Project of the Week~ Make your own snow!

What do you do when it is December and everyone is in the mood for snow, yet the forecast does not call for any?  You make your own! This project is definitely rated 5 out of 5 stars! Easy to make, kid friendly and loads of fun! Plus, if your kids are ages 4 and above they can do it by themselves after you get them started!

  Make your Own Snow
Supplies:
InstaSnow (found HERE at Amazon or your nearest craft store)
Water
Tray to contain your mess

Step 1: Pour water into your dish.
Step 2: Add the white powder.

Step 3: Watch the gel expand and turn into snow!
If the snow is too wet and gel like add more powder in small increments at a time.
Make small batches because everyone will want to make their own snow!

Get ready....It is time to play and stir and dump and smoosh and smash and...whatever your heart desires!  Get ready for a lot of ooohhhs and aaaahhhhhs, squeals and giggles!  I kept it on a tray just for clean up sanity!  Plus, I wanted to use it for a fun photo shoot!
 Result: Hours of Fun!
Time to head outside for a photo shoot!

Winter Fun!

Project of the week: Puffy Snowmen - Super Easy!

Project of the Week: Puffy Snowmen

I saw this project a while back and new I had to save it for a Family Night project because If I did it as part of the Little Kids Preschools and Big Sis and Daddy saw the pictures...Mommy would be in big trouble.  Big Sis told Mommy that we cannot do anything fun while she is at school because she wants to do it with us!  She was looking at the Blog with Daddy one day and I heard NO FAIR!  She knows that if she says No Fair  she will get in trouble!  This time it was justified.  She was looking at all of these fun projects that she didn't know we did because she was at school!  With all of that said (Sorry I am rambling!) here is our Super Easy Puffy Snowmen Project!  It is so fun!  You have to try this!

Here are the adapted directions that I found at the link below.

For this project…
* Mix equal parts of shaving cream and Elmer’s glue.  The mixture dries puffy just like this.
* Use your fingers or paint sponges to spread the shaving cream mixture and create your snowmen on blue card stock.
* Add card stock pieces to form the eyes, nose, mouth, hat, and arms.  (I used ribbon for the scarf.)
* I saw this adorable idea here at Homemaking Fun.

Time to Dry!

Now they are ready to hang!  We hung them in our special project place!  The way the air flows in the kitchen, the projects that are hung in this spot spin!  They are absolutely full of adorable wintry fun!

We made these a few weeks before Christmas and since we
hung up our free printable New Years Banner I found Here!

Family Tradition: Zoo Lights!!!

Every year we go to the Zoo Lights with Grandpa and Grandma.  Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins join in if they are in town too!  Usually we bundle up and ride through the freezing cold zoo in our wagon that is decked out in Christmas lights.  This year, we decided to visit the zoo, last minute so there was no wagon with lights but we did rent a zoo wagon!  It was also 60 degree's so all of the layers that we started the kids off in were peeled away and they ended up in sweatshirts instead of their coats and hats and gloves and scarves and.....yes if Momma is cold so are the troops :)
Grandpa got his nativity up!

We have to dance in front of the big musical light show!

Our favorite tree!

What a fun night!  Can't wait until next year!
