Glimpse Into Motherhood: Week of 8/14/11 - 8/21/11

This week we went to Marblehead, Ohio and camped with Grandma! We had a great time! We  played hard, swam hard, visited hard and enjoyed every minute!
First stop....Visit Daddy at work!  It was the "funest" time ever!

How many somersaults can you do at a time???? "Wish we had a big house so we could do this all day" Middle Sis said.

How'd Lil Bro get up there?

Next stop....a party to help celebrate Uncle Bob and Aunt Caroline's anniversary/birthday! Behave Daddy!
Now we are behaving :)

Uncle Piper is that you in the background???

I think it is Uncle Piper :)  Smile!

On to our week of camping!
The kids had a great time playing at the playground that I played at while visiting my Great Grandparents!  The equiptment changed a bit but it still brings back a lot of great memories!
We visited Grandma Beadles house. No one was home, which was a good thing since we took LOTS of pictures on their steps and around the house!  I wish I could have opened the squeaky back door, smelled the Molasses cookies wafting through the air, and sat on her vintage metal chairs.

We ate THE BEST ice cream ever!  The Dairy Dock knows how to do it right!  We always stop here when we are in town.  I have had a lot of other orange/vanilla twists but nothing compares to this. You might as well pick up a chicken sandwich while you are here, too!

When Daddy wasn't working we got to see him a little and throw rocks into the pond!
Here is an outfit I bought before my oldest was born.  I thought she was a he and dreamed of how cute it would be for baby to wear this and work with his Daddy.  Well, Big Sis came out and was a girl with 2 more sisters to follow.  This outfit finally got to make it's debut!  Congrats little Buddy!  You are so cute in this outfit!  It was bought 7 years before you!
Here are a few hotshots at the pool....watch out New York Fashion week here we come!
Congrats Daddy!  You got A's in your sumer classes!  Let's CELEBRATE!
We are SO proud of you Daddy!
Great Grandpa Rofkar (aka: Grandpa Rocker!) is getting fitted for an original piece of jewelry made by Miss Lil Sis!
And Great Grandma gets one too!
It's always sad when they leave....hope to see them really soon!

Let's Celebrate Daddy!

Today Daddy took his last final for summer classes and now has a 2 week break before fall semester begins. We had a party for him with some of his favorite snacks. Daddy works really hard and has gotten all A's!  We are so proud of him.  He works a lot, too.  He is funny and makes us laugh.  He throws us in the air.  He sings me the tater tot song.  He gives me under ducks. He makes the best blueberry pancakes. He is the best Daddy ever.
Love, Daddy's Girls

Project 52: Glimpse Into Motherhood - August 8 - 13

Here are a few highlights from this week!
There is not much that I would rather hear than giggling and laughing!

My most favorite moment this week was sitting down and coloring. I cannot remember the last time I was able to take time and color with my girls.  Now I can do it everyday!

Too CUTE! I love when he says:  RRRRAAAAWWWRRRR!

Big Sis made a scavenger hunt for Middle Sis and me!  We found clues around the house and Middle Sis taped them to her shirt.  We found the prize bag!  It was full of apples and a special note!

We had a fun sleepover with our cousins this week!  We had a movie night upstairs with yummy treats!  Mommy put M&M's in our popcorn...a trick she learned from Aunt B!

Here is a picture of the coolest sand castle ever!  Complete with a moat full of rocks and water...no parental help!

Lil Bro loves to pull and push the car around more than he rides in it! He always stops and waves at airplanes as they fly by!

We climbed tree's (Daddy is above Big Sis)!

...and played on the swing set!
We went window shopping with our friend Alisha!  We LOVE Charlie Girl!  We didn't buy anything but it was fun to try things on!
Daddy was supposed to wake us up in the middle of the night on Friday night for a major meteor shower...but it was too cloudy and he couldn't see any stars.  We were pretty sad Saturday morning that we didn't get to see any shooting stars. So Mommy strung lights up in the living room so we could sleep "under the stars" on Saturday night!

What a FANTASTIC week!

Summer Eats!

This year we got tomatoes, zucchini, summer squash, onions, a variety of herbs, green beans, and peppers from our garden!  Here's to Healthy and Frugal Living! I like to take what we get out of the garden and throw it in a pot for dinner and see what it turns into! You will see, throughout the next year recipes and fun planned in a creative and frugal way!
Here are a few YUMMY EATS!
Sauteed Veggies served as a side....Fab with salmon!
Here is the start of sauce!
Zucchinni, tomatoes, onion, pesto, summer squash, diced tomatoes, Italian Seasoning..and whatever else is in my cupboard!
All done!  Day 1 - I served it spooned over zitti
And day 2 - I turned the leftovers into a pasta bake!
Everyone LOVED it!

Pinterest.com

A friend told me about Pinterest.com a few months ago and I thought....I do not have time to spend on the computer for "fun" things!  I logged in and I realized that this website will save me time, help with organization, be a great cookbook, and inspire me in every area of my life including preschool ideas!  Here are my chalkboard makeovers after I got inspired on Pinterest! At the end of summer you will see pictures that have been checked off of our 2011 Summer List!
I have loved the chalkboard refrigerator on Good Luck Charlie and now I have my own...only difference is that it is on our cabinet front!
